【 APPLICATION 】

What kinds of characters are applicable?
We accept canon characters from all forms of media, canon AUs, CRAUs, OCs, fandom OCs (without close ties to the main cast), malleable protagonists, and fictionalized versions of real people provided there is enough established canon to form a distinct personality.

My character does not look human. What do I do?
That's no problem! Robots, monsters, mutants, abnormals, Anstaz has seen and welcomes them all!

Is there a character limit?
Sort of. Before applying for a new character, there must be either one post or a comment thread of at least ten comments (total) with the most recently adopted character. Players are allowed no more than two characters from the same canon and those characters may not have close interactions.

Are duplicates allowed?
Yes. We will accept up to three versions of a character as long as their alternate has enough established history/personality in canon. For example, there could be Wanda Maximoff from the MCU, 616, and Ultimates.

Is there an age limit?
Yes. Characters must at least 16 years old. If they are close to the age, they may be aged up.

Can I app a character post-death?
Yes. It will be up to the player if their characters is aware of the fact that they died in canon.

How are new canons handled?
We require a one-month waiting period from the release of a new canon before a character from it can be apped.

What about my character's canon powers and abilities?
Characters arrive as they are. Powers are not nerfed but we do expect players to be sensible in their use. Please don't break the setting.

【 PREMISE + SETTING 】

What is the premise?
Your character is transported to Anstaz, the world between all worlds/dimensions. It is a forgotten world that no one remembers after passing through it. Except, suddenly, visitors aren't simply passing through but remaining in and remembering this world.

Okay, but what's really going on?
What's really going on here? Your character might not realize anything is wrong yet, but there's obviously more to what's going on than they think. They have been brought here by means of magic, but whose magic was it? And why do they want your character here?

These are all mysteries that are there for your character to investigate. Just dig deeper. Look beneath what's beneath the surface as not everything is what it seems. NPCs will be around to help characters; give them jobs or help lead you to answers. But some may be out to hinder and lead your character astray so be careful who they decide to trust.

What happens when my character arrives?
Your character arrives strange lab with a portal that look straight out of the movie Stargate. The people who greet you explain that you've found yourself in Anstaz, the world between all worlds. Usually, no one remembers passing through this world, but recently, off-worlders have begun to arrive... and stay. Your character is one such person. They will be provided with lodgings in a high-rise in Seisa, the most populace area of Anstaz, and a device that looks something like a smartphone that can connect you to the local network.

What sort of places can my character explore?
Exploration of the setting is highly encouraged! There are business and organization within the cities of Seisa and Samak. The further one gets from the river, the more they'll see a once-great urban expanse that's fallen to ruin. There are even rumors of monsters and other strange things in the Outlands.

What happens if my character breaks the law?
That wholly depends on the crime and who the crime effects. Many of the police are corrupt and may let certain crimes slide for bribes or favors. If your crime happens to catch the notice of the local underworld bosses, they may send someone to knock at your door. Maybe to recruit you, maybe not. If your character gets caught doing something shady, you may chose for them to do time in jail. You can choose if you still want to RP them from jail or take a mini-hiatus and take them out of play for a time.

【 GAME MECHANICS 】

What is the pacing of the game?
Relaxed. We don't have a calendar or any sort of real day to IC day ratios.

What are the activity requirements?
Activity check is done quarterly and it's check-in only.

What if I need to hiatus or drop?
Please use the hiatus and drop posts to notify us. If you take a hiatus, please link to your hiatus post on the AC page. Players dropping are asked to take the appropriate steps in exiting properly so that they may leave in good standing and return at a later date if they so wish.

How do I canon update?
Please go to the canon update post and fill out the attached form for approval. Once the mod has approved the update, you may immediately update your character.

What about character deaths?
Unless you are dropping and that is your mechanism for leaving the game death is not permanent. Characters will be believed to have been on the verge of death and miraculously survived. However, characters do not know that they are impervious to death and should act accordingly. If there are witnesses to a character's death, they may begin to wonder...

What about potentially triggering topics?
Please apply the appropriate content warnings either in your post or in the subject line of a thread if it comes up later. This holds for topics such as graphic violence, sexual content, death, self-injury/suicide, abuse, rape, incest, etc.

So sex is allowed?
Yes it is. Please make sure anything NSFW is labeled as such.
